FE75 cello and piano
The Duo Op. 14 was obviously originally conceived for violoncello and piano, the dedicatee being the famous amateur cellist Count Mathieu Wielhorsky (1787-1863) who was also the dedicatee for Mendelssohn’s second cello sonata among many other works. There are also versions for horn and violin. It is in one movement with a duration of 16 minutes.
