Henselt: Duo Op. 14 for violin and piano
£8.00
Description
FE77 violin and piano
The Duo Op. 14 was obviously originally conceived for violoncello and piano, the dedicatee being the famous amateur cellist Count Mathieu Wielhorsky (1787-1863) who was also the dedicatee for Mendelssohn’s second cello sonata among many other works. However there are two more versions, one for horn, and this one for violin. The violin version is not merely a transposition of the cello part but has changes of notes, articulation and register to suit the violin. It is in one movement with a duration of 16 minutes.
