Henselt: Duo Op. 14 for horn and piano
£8.00
Description
FE76 horn and piano
The Duo Op. 14 was obviously originally conceived for violoncello and piano, the dedicatee being the famous amateur cellist Count Mathieu Wielhorsky (1787-1863) who was also the dedicatee for Mendelssohn’s second cello sonata among many other works. The version for horn is, however, very idiomatically done with changes of notes in the solo line, piano accompaniment differences and changed articulation to suit the instrument. It is an extremely taxing horn part, originally written for horn in E but also supplied with a part in F for those who prefer it. It is in one movement with a duration of 16 minutes.
