This collection is devised as a preparation for tackling the Sonatas and Partitas of J. S. Bach. The pieces in this volume introduce the student to the double stops and increased bow control, which are needed to approach Bach’s music confidently . This collection ranges from around Grade 6 through to Grade 8., the Gigue by Pisendel being the most difficult and quite as challenging as some Bach movements.

£7-99

Since Bach’s music for unaccompanied violin is extremely taxing, Fountayne Editions has devised a number of publications to help prepare the student before they go on to tackle the Sonatas and Partitas. The other volumes in this category are:
FE2018a A first introduction
FE2016 Duets arranged from Bach’s music for solo violin
FE2002 The prelude and fugue from Bach’s Sonata in C arranged for 3 violins
